Dr. Alianan, also known as Boboy, is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology, Ateneo de Manila University.  He was the founding Clinical Director of PsychConsult from 2001 to 2006, and has extensive experiences in a broad array of concerns involving children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.

Apart from doing psychological assessment and psychotherapy, he has been supervising psychologists in training for over 10 years.  His research interests revolve around mental health of Filipinos, help seeking behaviors, and development of local assessment tools. He has presented papers in local and international conferences.  Boboy writes a column for Good Housekeeping-Philippines and maintains a blog,www.psychologist4filipinos.blogspot.com, to share what he has learned in psychology to the Filipino audience.  He enjoys his work tremendously, as it allows him to know people better. He is currently undergoing training and supervision for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This type of psychotherapy helps individuals who experienced trauma and emotional distress. He speaks English, Filipino, and Fukien (Hokkien).
